I have been sponsoring Nandu ( as he calls himself) in the Bay Area for the last year. He is a wonderfully humble man with great knowledge. I encourage all in the area to attend. He will be staying the weekend for rice readings. He will explain more about his activities and teachings at the book reading.

Book Reading and Chanting to Lakshmi

Amarananda Bhairavan is a renowned Tantric Priest and healer. During his joyous childhood amongst an extended family on the West Coast of India, Amarananda trained in Oti vidya, a tantra peculiar to Odiyyathis or tribal medicine women of Kerala. Initiated at the age of nine by his aunt, Amarananda Bhairavan remains a direct descendant of this six thousand year old tradition of goddess worship. His mystical education and initiations in the ancient Oti vidya tantric practices are the subject of his two visionary books, "Kali’s Odiyya: A Shaman’s True Story of Initiation" and "Medicine of Light: A Shaman’s Journey through Mystic Space-Time." He is currently working on Aghora Rahasyam: Tantric Mysticism and a Doctrine on Consciousness.

Kali’s Odiyya —A Shaman’s True Story of Initiation introduced readers to the world of the odiyyas—shamans of the goddess. In Bhairavan’s new book Medicine of Light, Aunt Preema and her odiyya cohorts continue to teach novices Shambu and Sandhya how to collect the light of awareness to protect and heal their community. This vibrantly written book will make you want to read it in one sitting, but you will come back to it again and again for its extraordinary teachings.

Amarananda Bhairavan will be present at Open Secret Bookstore Friday July 27th at 7:30 PM for the reading of his second book Medicine of Light
A Shaman’s Journey through Mystic Space-Time.
After this he will lead all in chants to guru, Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi.
